What's happening exactly? Large telecommunications companies in America are trying to get the right to censor what they let through, and to give preference to "friendly" websites (ie those who have paid them). We believe that this goes against everything the internet stands for, and we know that this could mean the end for small websites.

It's just another brick in the wall of the American propaganda machine, China may censor the net but they don't claim to be "the land of the free" and their stranglehold on the internet as a whole is far less substantial. It's not just America that needs to block this, it's the world, we can't allow the internet to be owned, and least of all owned by profit driven companies or we will lose many of the things that makes the internet great, there will be no more freedom of information, no more blogs making everyones view heard.
